The Central Valley Rails to Trails Foundation is a coalition of organizations, businesses, community leaders and local residents who are committed to the goal of utilizing the Central California Traction corridor (27 miles between Sacramento and Woodbridge - near Lodi) for non-motorized, alternative transportation and recreation purposes.
WalkSacramento is a non-profit organization dedicated to achieving safe, walkable communities- for personal health and recreation, for livable neighborhoods, for traffic safety, and for clean air.
Sacramento River Parkway Coalition: We will alert you when issues arise at public meetings and when officials consider changes that may affect the completion of the Parkway. If officials know we favor public access, the status quo will change. It's our river, and it's our right.

The Middle Mountain Foundation works to maintain the natural, cultural, and historic qualities of the Sutter Buttes for present and future generations. They sponsor numerous hikes in the spring and fall which provide access for the general public to the Sutter Buttes.
Gold Country Orienteers (GCO) is an orienteering club based in the Sacramento, Calif., area. and serving the Central Valley, Sierras, and Western Nevada. Orienteering is finding your way cross-country, using a map and a compass.
Sierra Race Walkers is a 501(c)3 non-profit amateur sports organization registered with the USA Track & Field Association (USATF). The purpose is to promote race walking for persons of all ages and ability levels and to support the health and fitness benefits, enjoyment, and accomplishment of race walking activities and competitions. You don't have to be a race walker to benefit from the techniques, you can incorporate race walking techniques to make your regular walking faster and safer. Or, if you want, you can learn and practice race walking for fun, fitness, and competition. We welcome walkers of all ages and levels of ability.
Associated Students of Sacramento State Peak Adventures is the outdoor program designed to serve the campus community of California State University, Sacramento, and the other communities in the Northern California region. We provide recreational and educational opportunities through guided outdoor trips, ropes course programs, clinics and classes on many outdoor subjects.
The City of Sacramento, Department of Parks and Recreation has created the 50+ Wellness Program which provides information on health and wellness in the greater Sacramento area as well as programs to promote health and vitality for adults over age 50.

The California Coastal Trail (CCT) is the result of past legislative action and ongoing effort
