SECOND REVISION
AS AMENDED
ARTICLE
I. GENERAL
These By-laws are established to implement provisions of the
Constitution of the Sacramento Walking Sticks. (hereafter
known as SWS)
ARTICLE
II. MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the SWS shall be for all interested persons
who pay dues. Membership is automatic
upon payment of dues.
ARTICLE
III. EVENTS/FEES
SWS is required to pay an annual fee of not less than $50.00
and conduct at least one (1) AVA sanctioned Volkssport event per calendar
year. Membership dues are established as
Family - $14.00, Single - $8.00, and Seniors -
$5.00. Dues paid annually. Age 55 is established as eligibility for
senior members. Family memberships are entitled to two (2) votes regardless of
the number of members in the family.

IV. OFFICERS
The officers shall perform the duties prescribed by these
by-laws and by Robert’s Rules of Order.

ARTICLE V. VACANCIES OF
OFFICERS
Vacancies of elected officers, except for president, will be
filled by election of a replacement by a majority vote of the membership at any
regular or special meeting. The
successor to a vacancy shall serve the unexpired term.
ARTICLE
VI. REMOVAL OF OFFICERS
Any of the elected officers of the SWS can be removed from
office by a recall motion instituted by any active SWS member, providing the
motion is petitioned by twenty-five (25) percent of the active members. The motion will become effective if accepted
by a majority vote at any regular or special membership meeting of the SWS.
ARTICLE
VII. FISCAL
YEAR
The fiscal year of the SWS shall be from 1 July of a given
year through 30 June of the following year.
ARTICLE
VIII. COMMITTEES
Section 1.
Committees, standing or special, shall be appointed by the SWS President
or by the majority vote of the officers, as deemed necessary to carry on the
work of the SWS. The President shall be
a member ex-officio of all committees except the Nominating Committee.
ARTICLE IX. PROXY VOTES
Members may submit written proxy votes to be received before
meetings concerning dissolution and elections.
ARTICLE
X. AMENDMENT OF THE BY-LAWS
These By-laws can be amended only upon approval of a
majority vote by the assembled membership at a regular or special meeting.
ARTICLE
XI. CONCLUDING CLAUSES.
Section 1.
These by-laws go into effect January 2006 after acceptance by the
membership of the SWS.
Section 2.
The duly elected officers are empowered to make editorial changes in the
text.
SPECIAL RULES AND POLICIES OF THE
1. Membership dues can be amended by the assembled
membership of the SWS by a majority vote.
2. No person or organization, whether an active member of
the SWS or not, may use the club name for any projects without the approval of
a majority vote of the SWS members at a regularly held meeting.
3. No member shall use SWS facilities or media to promote
private gain.
4. Club equipment is purchased for the sole use of the SWS
and many not be used by another organization without
the consent of the membership.
