The S.W.S. Home page indroduces you to California's fastest growing Volkssporting club. The latest "news flashes" appear at the bottom of the page. These change often, so keep coming back! |
The Calendar of Events page is the one to visit when you have your calendar out and are dreaming of adventures in the northern California area. This page is updated often, so you will want to keep coming back. You can also add your email address to receive timely email alerts for walks that are happening in a few days. There is also a subscription/donation form that will deliver the "Compass" to your mailbox. The "Compass" is the California Volkssports Association's quarterly print magazine that lists sanctioned events in the Pacific region (California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii). |
The Year Round Events page lists the walks (and a bike ride) that are not only sponsored by the Sacramento Walking Sticks but also can be done any day of the year (well, almost, in most cases). Just get to the starting point, sign in, grab a copy of the directions, and take the walk!

The Membership page has the information needed to join the Sacramento Walking Sticks. You can link to the membership application forms from this page (individual/senior or family). |
The S.W.S. Store gives a glimpse of pins, patches, and other "prizes" you can buy through the club. To purchase items, you will need to print out the order form and deliver it to an officer at one of our events, or mail it in with your payment. |
The Volunteer Hall of Fame page is the one where we honor those great volunteers from the club. The President of the club will induct up to one new volunteer per month into the Volunteer Hall of Fame. There may be months where no new volunteer can be honored, so please don't let this happen - volunteer today! |
The Incentive Program page explains the ins and outs of the AVA Incentive program. Go here if you've ever wondered what walking for "credit" really means. |
The Special Programs page points you toward earning special awards that various volkssporting clubs throughout the country sponsor for your enjoyment, entertainment, and education. These special awards supplement the normal event and distance awards that are given by the American Volkssport Association (AVA). The page has a short description of the special program and a link to the page that provides all the specifics. |
The Member Achievements page has a listing of the Event, Distance, and Special Program achievements of our members. Use the email link on the page to update your information. |
The Photo Gallery page is a list of pages that display pictures from a single event. These pages have thumbnails of each photograph and open up in a new browser. By clicking on the thumbnail photo, you can view the full sized photo from the gallery pages. Here's the list of the events with photos:

When you hear or read a term you don't understand, this page is for you. If the glossary is missing a term, there's an email link to request inclusion of the missing term. |
